Save The Date! March 15, 2020: Bench Dedication at The Hermitage

On Sunday, March 15th, Andrew Jackson's birthday, Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) will conduct a special dedication of a granite park bench to The Hermitage, home and final resting place of our nation's 7th president. The bench will permanently reside in the garden east of the mansion.

There will be a ceremony that will begin at 2:00 pm, just outside the garden beyond Andrew Jackson's tomb. As part of this ceremony, several dignitaries will share remarks including:

  • Howard Kittell, President of The Hermitage Foundation

  • John Trussell, Publicity Chairman, Georgia SAR

  • David Carr, President, Tennessee SAR

  • John Manning, President General SAR

  • Mark Cheatham, History Professor, Cumberland University

  • John Clines, Commander Tennessee SAR Color Guard

There will also be a special musical performance by Gary Wood.

Admission to The Hermitage will be half price to the general public on March 15th, while Andrew Jackson SAR guests participating in the program may be admitted without fee.
