AJSAR to honor Police Heroes from Christmas Day Bombing



Our Andrew Jackson chapter has partnered with the Anthony Bledsoe chapter in Hendersonville to present SAR Heroism Awards to the six police officers who risked their lives to rush residents out of buildings on 2nd Avenue Christmas morning before the bomb exploded. Presidents of the two chapters will make the presentations. The date and place of the presentations was confirmed this morning.

The event will be limited to a maximum of 15 minutes, so if you attend, plan to arrive by 6:00 a.m. Members who attend are asked to wear Revolutionary War period clothing, especially Continental uniforms or Militia gear, if possible. If Color Guard members bring flintlock weapons, make sure you do not also have powder or shot. Leave other weapons at home.
