The Andrew Jackson Chapter of the Society of Sons of the American Revolution (AJSAR) serves the Nashville, Tennessee region around the Hermitage, home of our seventh president, Andrew Jackson. We sponsor or participate in patriotic and historic activities locally, in Tennessee, and nationwide.
The National Society Sons of the American Revolution (NSSAR) is the premier male lineage society with sixteen U.S. Presidents and twenty seven Medal of Honor recipient Compatriots on our member rolls. With more than 208,000 members admitted since being founded on April 30, 1889, the NSSAR members are intensely devoted to serving the communities they hail from across all fifty states and in five countries abroad.

Our organization's members participate in untold hours of service work, educational outreach initiatives and efforts to promote American patriotism. Our Headquarters is situated in the historical museum district in Louisville Kentucky and our library houses unique collections which grow daily. We invite you to explore activities we are involved with locally, nationally and globally, there is much to learn about the Sons of the American Revolution.

The Andrew Jackson Chapter SAR recognizes leaders in our community through award ceremonies and contests. AJSAR commends outstanding ROTC cadets, Eagle Scouts as well as first responders, military and veterans.
AJSAR also administers contests for Nashville area elementary through high school students organized by age group. Winners are also submitted to Tennessee Society SAR who in turn submits winners to National Society SAR for additional opportunities to be recognized. Available prizes are $6,000 for the winning essay and $6,000 for the winning oration. All participants will benefit from practice in research, knowledge of the foundations of our nation, and experience in life skills.
